Synthesis provided Owner’s Representative and project development management services to Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, Howard County’s only emergency shelter program and 24-hour crisis intervention service.
Previously operating from an aged 8,900 square foot building on the same site, the new 25,150 gross square foot facility houses up to 55 beds in a Family Shelter and a Men’s Shelter, as well as the crisis intervention services and administrative spaces. The new facility opened in April 2008.
Synthesis managed programming, feasibility study, design and permitting, and identified and planned temporary relocation facilities for use during the construction period.
As a Howard County owned building, the construction was managed by the Howard County Department of Public Works. During this time, Synthesis provided support to Grassroots as the tenant’s Owner’s Representative.
